RPCV’s of West Michigan is established to help returned volunteers network locally and nationally, to continue volunteering with local and international service projects and to promote global education and understanding in West Michigan.
We are located, primarily, in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area. However, we encourage all in Western Michigan to stay in touch and support the group through your RPCV dues, donations and presence.
On average, we have about 3 to 4 events per year. We do local service projects in the Spring. We have an International Potluck dinner in late Winter with an invited speaker or returned volunteer to talk about their experiences in the developing world. We meet socially throughout the year. Our annual meeting is in December. We support at least one international project per year.
Our fundraising is primarily used for supporting local and international projects that promote the ideals of Peace Corps or the direct work of volunteers in the field.
